Own memberships

As a representative of the German brass band scene, the DBBV is a member of the European Brass Band Association, the European Brass Band Association (EBBA). The EBBA is, among other things, the organizer of the annual European Brass Band Championship, in which the German Brass Band Master takes part for Germany.

"One of the objects of the Association shall be to further and promote the intrinsic, aesthetic and social values ​​of brass bands in Europe. Each year EBBA will plan, organize and supervise the EBBC together with any appropriate events for example conferences, forums, meetings , workshops and masterclasses for european brass bands, musicians, conductors, jury and panel members, and composers. Further EBBA will make efforts to establish contacts with music education institutions to promote better recognition of the brass band within the context of music studies. To promote cooperation between amateur and professional musicians and within this context, to encourage exchanges between european countries will be one of the main activities of the Association. "

The Federal Association of German Music Associations (BDMV) has over 1.3 million members. Mostly voluntary orchestras and associations are organized in Germany's largest music association.

The umbrella organization of more than 18,000 ensembles in approx. 11,000 member associations, organized in 22 member associations at state level, takes care of the representation of interests vis-à-vis politics and the media, advice and service support for its members, as well as basic musical work. One of the central tasks of the BDMV is the political and association-political representation of the interests of its members. For this purpose, the BDMV holds numerous talks with politicians at federal and state level, organizes press conferences and parliamentary evenings and maintains an extensive network of contacts with politicians who feel connected to music in general and the BDMV in particular.

As far as the association's second major task area is concerned, the BDMV provides its member associations with numerous innovative services.
